Privacy Policy

Noxly ("we", "us", "our") is a dream journal application that helps you record, interpret and visualize your dreams. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Dream data: dream titles and descriptions, characters, settings, time of day, weather, mood, tags and any notes you enter into the app ("Dream Data"). Your dream journal is stored on your device.
• Profile settings: your app language and, if you choose to set them, your name and gender. Gender is used only to make dream interpretations and cover images more accurate.
• Anonymous identifier: on first launch the app creates a random identifier on our server. It is not linked to your name, email or contacts, and is used only to operate AI features and enforce daily usage limits.
• Purchase information: subscription status and transaction details, provided by Apple and processed by RevenueCat.
• Install attribution: how you found the app (for example, which ad campaign), processed by Adjust.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate and maintain the app features, including dream interpretations and cover images.
• To enforce daily usage limits and protect our services from abuse.
• To improve and develop new features, and analyze app usage.
• To communicate with you about updates or support requests.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of the service and users.

3. AI-Powered Features

When you request a dream interpretation, automatic dream details, a translation or a cover image, we send only the content needed for that request to third-party AI providers: the dream's title and text, characters, setting, time of day, weather and mood, your app language and, if set, your gender. Your name is never sent.

• Google (Gemini API): dream interpretation, extracting dream details, translation.
• Black Forest Labs (FLUX): cover image generation.

These requests pass through our server, hosted by Supabase. The server forwards them to the provider and does not store the content of your dreams. We keep only your anonymous identifier and a count of your daily requests, to enforce usage limits. The AI providers process this data under their own terms and privacy policies. We use Google's paid Gemini API, under which Google does not use your requests or its responses to train its models.

AI features are optional: you can keep a dream journal without sending your dreams to any AI provider.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (if you are in the EEA/UK)

Where applicable, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent; performance of a contract; our legitimate interests (improving the app, fraud prevention) and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information to:

• Service providers: Supabase (backend hosting), Google and Black Forest Labs (AI processing, see section 3), RevenueCat (subscription management), Adjust (install attribution and analytics). Each receives only the data needed to provide its service to us.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• Business transfers: in case of merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (we will notify users where required).

6. Data Retention

Your dream journal stays on your device until you delete the entries or the app. Daily AI usage counters are kept only as long as needed to enforce usage limits. Your anonymous identifier is kept while you use the app; you can ask us to delete it at support@noxlydreams.com. Aggregated and anonymized data may be kept longer for analytics purposes.

7. Security

We implement reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect data, and all connections between the app and our server are encrypted. However, no system is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Device Permissions

The app asks for device permissions only for the features that need them: the microphone and speech recognition for voice input (speech is transcribed by Apple's speech recognition), the photo library to save images you create, and notifications for reminders. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.

9. Analytics and Cookies

We use analytics and attribution providers to understand usage patterns and how users find the app. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies when you view our web pages. Analytics data is used in aggregated or pseudonymized form.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights including:

• Access to personal data we hold about you.
• Correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your personal data.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and data portability.

11. International Transfers

Data may be processed or stored in countries different from your residence, including the European Union (our server) and the United States (AI providers). We apply safeguards required by law to protect data transferred across borders.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy with an updated effective date. If changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice.
